Day of Caring is a day where the community comes together to volunteer. There are various projects throughout the community from delivering meals to landscaping and painting. And you can donate a single hour or eight hours depending on your availibility.
Last year's Day of Caring broke all records, with 200 volunteers from 10 companies completing 20 projects around the community. Their 1,600 hours of work was valued at $36,640.
The Day of Caring was established in 2008 by the United Way of Greater Augusta to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism, increase the awareness of local human service agencies and schools, and demonstrate what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.
