Request for Proposals


United Way of Greater Augusta is pleased to announce the release of the Requests for Proposals for its 2019-2020 Community Impact Grant cycle.  This cycle will cover the program period of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020. Grants will be awarded for a period of one year. United Way of Greater Augusta is committed to being the catalyst to improving people’s lives in the communities of Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County. Our vision is to be the leader that has united the community towards positive change.

As part of our vision, United Way of Greater Augusta invests in high performing programs that provide services aligning with our strategic priorities through our Community Impact Grant Awards cycle. Our strategic priorities, as outlined in the supporting documents, include: Financial Stability of households, School and Career Readiness, Aging, and Mental Health.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Your organization must be able to demonstrate proof of non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Your program must impact citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.

  • Your organization CANNOT require participants to engage in religious activities in any part of the program being funded by the Grant.

  • Your organization must meet state and federal financial guidelines for a nonprofit based on organizational Budget.

  • The person who is applying for the Grant, must have attended and completed ROMA training

  • Grant funds are restricted for the use for the Program specified in this application.

FUNDING GUIDELINES

Funding for programs in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County may be requested for a minimum of $2,000 and a maximum of $30,000.

Programs must align with one of the six priority areas specified in this application.

Organizations may apply for grants to support one program. Funds may be used to start a new program, or for the expansion of an existing program, and may be used for operational, administrative, staffing and supply expenses related to program support.

Organizations that are awarded grants will be required to submit interim progress report on January 15, 2020 and end of year report on program outcomes on July 15, 2020

STRATEGIC PRIORITIES AND OUTCOMES

United Way of Greater Augusta recognizes the importance of collecting and utilizing data to help us in our storytelling efforts and in articulating how the work you do translates into a valuable return on investment and impact for our communities.  The following is a list of strategic priorities and their desired outcomes.  All applicants are required to report on the number of unduplicated individuals served by this grant.

Please select and report on at least two outcomes in the program area from which you are requesting funds. You can choose from the list or create your own measurable outcome.
