The Day of Caring was established in 2008 by the United Way of Greater Augusta to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism, increase the awareness of local human service agencies and schools, and demonstrate what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.
The 3rd annual United Way of Greater Augusta Day of Caring was a great success! On September 9-11, 2011, more than 200 volunteers from local businesses and organizations proved once again that they care about our community by reporting to work sites at local nonprofit organizations and public schools to tackle meaningful volunteer projects. Volunteers made a difference at 15 project sites in the Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County communities.
