Application Guidelines

  • All applications are due by February 10, 2012.
  • All applications must be submitted using the provided electronic pdf and typed. Applications should be uploaded here or sent electronically to awardsfunding@unitedwayga.org. Handwritten, mailed or faxed applications will not be accepted.
  • All 990s must be included in the electronic submission. Your accountant should have no problem providing an electronic copy of your most recent 990 to you.

 

How to Qualify for Funding

  • Your program or collaboration must be managed or facilitated by a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that satisfies the requirements of the IRS.
  • The population you are serving must include the areas of either Staunton, Augusta County, or Waynesboro, with preference to those who cover all three.
  • The proposed program must cover one of our focus areas, be it Education, Income, Health, or multiple areas.
  • Education: Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
  • Income: Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
  • Health: Improving People's Health

 

Previous Grantees Include:

  • Health: Free or reduced-price dental care for children (Augusta Regional Dental Clinic)
  • Income: Free or reduced-price legal advice and representation to low income residents (Blue Ridge Legal Services)
  • Education: Parent education programs (Shenandoah Community Focus: Parent Education, Central Shenandoah Office on Youth)
